No, the Today show hosts are not rivals off set. But if they are versing each other in a challenge on air then that's another story. I have a few ideas for challenges and they all involve Karl. I was thinking the following and they all must be done barefoot:

Karl to swim the full length of an olympic pool in shirt and tie
Karl to participate in a dunk tank in shirt and tie
Karl to participate in boot camp on a beach in shirt and tie
